Ole Miss' Reginald Buckner punches Missouri's Laurence Bowers
With No. 20 Missouri holding a comfortable 22-point cushion against No. 23 Ole Miss with 7:30 remaining in Saturday's Southeastern Conference clash, tempers began to flare.
Surprisingly, an Ole Miss player started a fight, and his name wasn't Marshall Henderson.
The tussle started when Missouri's Alex Oriakhi grabbed the foot of Ole Miss' Reginald Buckner after falling to the floor on a rebound.
Buckner tripped and wasn't happy, darting towards Oriakhi.
As most fights go in college basketball, when one domino falls, the others begin to fall quickly.
Second domino: To step up for his teammates, Missouri's Laurence Bowers stepped in and pushed Buckner back.
Third domino: Then Ole Miss' Murphy Holloway shoved Bowers.
Fourth domino: Then, in the midst of the shove, Buckner appeared to punch Bowers.
Fifth domino: Referees entered to separate the players and Ole Miss coaches rushed on the court to help (or fight?).
Ending: The situation was controlled and Buckner was ejected from the game. Missouri won 98-79.
Also: Oriakhi was given a flagrant foul for starting the mess by tripping Buckner.
Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy addressed the situation after the game.
