Buy Lionel Messi's left foot for about $5 million
Many have said Messi's touch is golden on the soccer pitch. A Tokyo jeweler took the phrase literally, constructing a 55-pound solid gold replica of the Barcelona maestro's left foot.
Ginza Tanaka decided to commemorate Messi's unprecedented fourth consecutive Ballon d'Or, which he won in January, with the statue valued at $5.25 million.
If you have a spare $5.25 million in between your couch cushions, you can buy the foot on Thursday, Tanaka said.
"It's exceptional. You can see each line in the foot. It's an impressive piece of work," Messi's brother Rodrigo, who attended the unveiling said.
A portion of the proceeds of the sale will go to Messi's foundation, which will support children in areas affected by the earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan in March of 2011
