Alex Rodriguez to make more money than the Houston Astros


The New York Yankees boast the biggest payroll in Major League Baseball for the 15th consecutive year (at just over $228 million), and for the 13th consecutive year, Alex Rodriguez is the highest paid player in baseball. Rodriguez will earn $29 million in 2013, though he'll start the season on the disabled list while recovering from hip surgery.

The Astros, meanwhile, will have the MLB's lowest payroll in 2013, at just $22,062,600 — for the entire team. That mean's A-Rod will make 131 percent of the Astros' payroll. Houston's highest-paid player, pitcher Bud Norris, will make $3 million.
