JD Vance's family tree: A guide to wife Usha, kids, parents
Ohio Sen. JD Vance rose to fame by writing the bestselling memoir "Hillbilly Elegy," and now as President-elect Donald Trump enters a second presidential term, Vance will be at his side as Vice President.
Vance grew up in Middletown, Ohio, and visited Jackson, Kentucky, during the summers to spend time with his extended family. In his book, Vance recounts a turbulent childhood, his mother's struggle with substance abuse, and the life-changing influence of his grandmother, whom he called Mamaw.
Vance is a lawyer, author, war veteran, husband and father. During his speech at the Republican National Convention on July 17, Vance said the accomplishment he was most proud of is his family. “My most important American dream was becoming a good husband and a good dad,” he said.
