Costco opening locations in these 3 cities in March. Here's where.

It’s nearly three months into the new year, and like other businesses, Costco is expanding, opening three stores in two states.

The stores will be in Texas and Utah, and will open in mid-March, the company confirmed to Paste BN on Wednesday, Feb. 18.

Costco, a members-only wholesale store, opened its first location in 1976 under the name Price Club. The location was inside a converted airplane hangar on Morena Boulevard in San Diego. The company opened its first warehouse location in Seattle in 1983. 

Costco said in early February that it has 924 warehouses, including 634 in the United States and Puerto Rico, as well as locations in foreign countries, such as Mexico and Japan.

Where will new Costco locations be in March?

Costco has held a series of openings in 2025, including locations in the Villages, Florida; North Guadalajara, Mexico; and Richland, Washington, in August.  

The company welcomed shoppers to its newly opened West Roseville, California, store in January, according to the company’s website. The company held a grand opening ceremony on Jan. 23, the Roseville Area Chamber of Commerce said.

According to Costco’s website, the locations coming in March will be in Utah and Texas. The three stores will employ a total of 715 people, most of whom are in Texas, Costco said in a news release emailed to Paste BN on Feb. 18.

In Liberty Hill, about 31 miles northwest of Downtown Austin, a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the mayor and the Liberty Hill Chamber of Commerce will be held. The event will be at 7:30 a.m. local time on March 11, and the store will open at 8 a.m. that day, according to Katie Amsler, the city's director of community engagement and communications.

The 152,000-square-foot warehouse will make it easier for locals to shop at Costco, the warehouse club said in the news release. Previously, residents had to drive 9 miles south to Cedar Park, 20 miles southeast to Georgetown or 20 miles south to Austin to shop at the wholesale retailer.

“We are thrilled to be bringing Costco’s low warehouse prices to the residents of Liberty Hill,” Warehouse Manager Dan Leonhardt said in the news release. “They have been asking us to open here for a long time, and we already have made an impact on the local job market. We look forward to contributing to the community in many ways.”

Texas:

• Liberty Hill – 595 US-183 (opens at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, March 11)
• Forney – 150 FM 460 (opens at 8 a.m. on Thursday, March 12)

Utah:

• St. George – 4700 South Desert Color Parkway (opens at 8 a.m. on Friday, on March 13)
