Robin recs trailers for 'Feudlings,' 'Invisible,' 'Guy's Angel'
Hello, friends!
With temperatures in the high 70s and low 80s, I'm starting to feel like summer is really on its way. That means lots of time by the pool with an awesome romance novel in my hands. Right now my Kindle is overflowing with books that I will devour in my lounge chair: Perfect Fling by Carly Phillips, Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire and Slam! By JL Merrow — just to name a few.
The trailer for Feudlings by Wendy Knight starts off with a bang when it uses the word "suck" on the first frame. Immediately, I know it's a YA, and I love the voice. The music is heavy and suspenseful but not too dark, and it perfectly embodies the tension of war and love that stretches between the hero and heroine.
It must be my week for YA because the second trailer is for Invisible by Marni Bates. Now, I will admit that I know next to nothing about the actual story from the trailer, but it is so darn clever that I want to get the book … like yesterday. Like, totally.
And now for something totally different … Guy's Angel by Lee Ann Sontheimer Murphy is set in 1925. The ragtime music and the old-time photographs set the stage perfectly for a love story between a flying ace and the girl he teaches to fly as they fall in love.
Remember: You can refer book trailers for a feature spot in the column. They need to be romances (any genre is OK), and I will take a look. You can send your suggestions to robin@robincovingtonromance.com.
See you next Thursday!
