Jessie recs audio books of 'Dragon Bound,' 'Dark Life'
Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison, narrated by Sophie Eastlake
I loved the book so much, but I have to admit that Sophie brought out Pia and Dragos in a way that made me love the book that much more. Pia is in trouble and on the run after stealing a penny from a dragon … actually THE dragon who is currently chasing her. When Dragos catches up with her (you know he will always win), Pia's just not right in the head, because she's scared and aroused, and wanting more all at once. Every time Sophie swore in Dragos' hard voice, I found myself transported next to all his rippling bronze skin and dark hair. Its hard to find female narrators who play men so well, but Sophie … let's just say I've got the other Elder books on my Wish List. Pia's voice was also so bouncy, so exactly what Pia sounded like in my head. I've already downloaded Biting Bad by Chloe Neill, which also has Sophie as narrator, and I'm looking forward to hearing Merit from her perspective.
Sophie Eastlake also narrates the Nikki Glass series by Jenna Black and some of the anthology The Undead in My Bed by Jessica Sims, Molly Harper and Katie MacAlister. Sophie shines in the urban fantasy genre.
If you haven't read any of the Elder Races books by Thea, I urge you to either download the audio book or pick it up, Thea writes magic.

Dark Life by Kat Falls, narrated by Keith Nobbs
Dark Life is a little bit dystopian, a little bit romance and a whole lot of adventure, action and, of course, the dark life beneath the ocean floor. This is one of my favorite YA novels. Kat Falls is so creative that the vivid words describing the farmstead below the sea level come to life. Listening to Keith Nobbs tell the story was a different type of treat. He perfectly narrates Ty's day-to-day life and is one of my new favorite narrators. Brief plot: After a catastrophe, there isn't enough land, so people buy, sell and trade in space, while a new and different type of people begin living subsea and farming down below. When Ty meets up with Gemma, his world shifts. She's a topsider looking for a brother, but the Sea Blight gang are threatening everything Ty and his family believe in. They must fight, but Ty and the other kids are hiding something … a "dark gift" that the outlaws also seem to have. The second book, Rip Tide, is just as action-packed, and I look forward to listening to it and hope that Kat Falls has a third book in the mix.
Keith Nobbs also narrates a part of Poison Princess by Kresley Cole, along with Emma Galvin. He also does quite a few children's books and She's So Dead to Us (by Kieran Scott) with Rebecca Soler.
