Robin recs trailers for 'Find Me,' 'Two-Room Flat'

Hello, friends!

Hot. Cold. Hot. Cold.

I am not loving the whiplash of the fall weather. It was cool here and I started eyeing my sweaters and boots with excitement. Then … bam! It was 93 degrees Wednesday. Scorching hot and wonderful for someone (me) who doesn't like cold weather. But, the temperature wasn't the only thing heating up my life. I read Avril Ashton's A Sinner Born (No. 3 in her Brooklyn Sinners series), and I needed a cold shower and a box full of Kleenex. Love this series and can't wait for the next one.

Find Me by Romily Bernard is first up on my list this week. Oh man … I love this book, and the trailer lives up to the incredibly thrilling ride of the YA novel. The video uses imagery, modern tech gadgets and a headline news feature to bring the story of this young hacker into focus. The narration gives you the necessary backstory, and then a combination of the script and an image of a single notebook with a Post-it on it brings it all home. This trailer will make you open a new tab on your browser and order a copy for yourself.

The next trailer is actually made to highlight three different novels by three different authors, and it brings them all together beautifully. Amanda Brice (Codename: Dancer), Miriam Wenger Landis (Girl in Motion) and Leslie DuBois (The Queen Bee of Bridgeton) all write lovely, YA stories centered around pre-professional ballet dancers. This trailer features a pitch-perfect score, a cohesive script and youthful imagery that pull them all into one cohesive piece of work. It can be difficult to bring these disparate elements together, but this was done very well. Well done!

Now — this trailer for Two-Room Flat by Jill Urbach is so unique and funny that I watched it twice. The author kicks it off as introducing it as a "behind the scenes" look at making the trailer. The cast of actors is perfect and the music and setting really wonderful to hear and see. It's got a topless hottie and a director screaming "More abs!" — what's not to like?

Remember: You can refer book trailers for a feature spot in the column. They need to be romances (any genre is OK), and I will take a look. You can send your suggestions to robin@robincovingtonromance.com.
