Jessie recs audio versions of 'Endless Knight,' 'Ender's Game'

YA dystopian/paranormal romance

Endless Knight by Kresley Cole, narrated by Emma Galvin

This was on my "must buy the moment it comes out!" list and even though I had just read it the week before, Emma Galvin brought me right back into the story and sucked me in alongside Evie. If you haven't read or listened to Poison Princess, STOP AND GO DO SO! It's one of my top series of 2012 and 2013, and all I can say is, Wow. Kresley's writing was great to start with. That cave scene with Jack? *shivers* Oh, and basically any scene with Death … can you tell I'm Team Death? And Emma brought the Cajun to life. If you have one credit this month, grab Endless Knight.

Emma Galvin also narrated the Divergent series by Veronica Roth (do listen to it before it hits theaters in 2014), Red Hill by Jamie McGuire, Help for the Haunted by John Searles, Faking It by Cora Carmack and Graveminder by Melissa Marr, to name a few. She's really brought my favorite characters to life and is in my list of Top 3 narrators of all time.

YA sci-fi

Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, narrated by Stefan Rudnicki and Harlan Ellison (Special 20th Anniversary Edition)

I love how so many movies are being made based on books, and Ender's Game is coming soon to theaters. While I read it years ago, I decided to give the audio version a try since the 20th anniversary edition was getting such huge praise. First off, Orson Scott Card is a phenomenal writer, and I highly recommend this to sci-fi and fantasy fans. This edition was also a pleasure to listen to. Because there were two narrators, it was refreshing, highly entertaining and fast-paced. I plan on putting the next book in my queue: Ender's Game Alive: The Full Cast Audioplay is being released Tuesday (Oct. 22,) and that's one I must get.

Harlan Ellison has also narrated Thief of Time by Terry Pratchett, The Other Wind by Ursula K. Le Guin, More Than Human by Theodore Sturgeon and a ton of other sci-fi books.

Stefan Rudnicki has narrated The Lost Gate and Pathfinder by Orson Scott Card, Something Wicked This Way Comes and A Sound of Thunder by Ray Bradbury, and Far Side by Ben Bova, to name a few. He is one of the most popular narrators and does most of Orson Scott Card's works.
