State of Romance: Paranormal activity and romance in Ohio


On this day in 1813, the U.S. Navy defeated the Royal Navy during the Battle of Lake Erie near Put-in-Bay, Ohio. The U.S. victory secured the lake for the remainder of the War of 1812. The conflict generated a romantic hero — Oliver Perry. He reported to his commander, "We have met the enemy and they are ours. Two ships, two brigs, one schooner and one sloop."
