Exclusive cover reveals: Power Play series by Lynda Aicher
Lynda Aicher joins HEA to share the covers and introduce us to her upcoming Power Play series, which kicks off with Game Play on Feb. 16.
Lynda: The Power Play series follows the Glaciers professional hockey team, which was first introduced in my Wicked Play series. This smoking hot new series launches with Game Play. Sparks fly when young hot shot Dylan Rylie meets his match in Samantha Yates, a hockey star in her own right. Team captain Scott Walters struggles with secrets in Back in Play (May 11) until Rachel Fielding shows him what life outside of hockey could be like — if he's willing to give up one dream to have another. And Penalty Play (Aug. 10) finds bruiser Henrik Grenick stumbling upon Jacqui Polson, a woman who detests hockey and everything that goes with it, but gives him the guidance he craves, both in and out of the bedroom. I'm really excited for everyone to read this series. It's been fun writing about a sport I love to watch and one time (long ago) tried to play.

GAME PLAY
One night, one time, nothing more. That's all it was supposed to be. They'd agreed their first night together would be their only night together—and Minnesota Glaciers defenseman Dylan Rylie was fine with that. Giant hickeys and claw marks on his ass had never been his style, even if the very memory of Samantha Yates's merciless sexual energy gets him hard within seconds. He needs to focus on getting a better contract, not mind-blowing orgasms.
Fresh off representing the US at the Games and with nowhere else to play, Samantha gave in to one night of frantic passion with the Glaciers' brawny hotshot. She couldn't get hurt—not if she controlled the outcome. And she planned to leave Minnesota soon, anyway. She didn't expect to be recruited to coach Dylan after they'd gotten down and dirty.
When brutal on-ice workouts lead to kinky locker room sessions and "one night" falls by the wayside, Samantha insists on keeping things casual, despite Dylan's quiet hope for more. But when Dylan goes down—hard—and his career is in jeopardy, Samantha is the first one by his side. What will it take to keep her there after he's healed?
BACK IN PLAY
Hockey has been Scott Walters's only focus since he went pro fifteen years ago. He's achieved a lot in his career and sacrificed just as much. Skating with a bum knee for the last two years is all part of the game, as is the medications he takes to keep him on the ice. But when the Glaciers' refuse to renew his contract going into a season where the team is poised to win the national title, Scott has some big decisions to make and a lot to prove to everyone—especially himself.
Rachel Fielding never needed a man in her life. However, with everyone around her happy in coupledom, she's constantly reminded that she also never intended to grow old alone. When she meets the seemingly perfect man while visiting her brother in Minnesota, she can't resist the draw even if she knows a long-term relationship is out of the question.
What starts out as fun tour outside of hockey evolves into a deep connection that neither can deny. But Rachel soon discovers that Scott is far from perfect and his secrets could destroy their fledgling relationship or bring them closer together.
PENALTY PLAY
Henrik Grenick, a first pair defenseman for the Glaciers, is known for his bruit force on the ice. It's the one place his size is a real advantage. Born to influential parents and raised by nannies, hockey has been the one constant in his life. That and playing the piano-not that anyone knows about that one. The parade of women that exist in his life may be a bit controlling, even mean, but they're better than being alone.
Jacqui Polson has a deep hate for all things hockey. The only girl in a family of five kids, no one understood why she never wanted to be a part of the family's love affair with the sport. For one, she's not a boy and doesn't want to be and two, she simply wanted to play music. She learned early how to be independent given that all of the family money and time went to something she wanted no part of.
A chance meeting at a secluded ice pond turns into an unexpected friendship of sorts. Jacqui quickly clues in on Henrik's need for direction, both in and out of the bedroom. What starts off as games of sexual dominance morphs into her showing Henrik that gentle guidance from someone who cares is very different than bitchy demands from someone who doesn't. Unprepared when the public spotlight casts her as Henrik's new bimbo, Jacqui bolts.
Henrik has to learn that he doesn't need just anyone in his life to fill the void.
Jacqui has to learn that needing someone in her life doesn't make her weak.
