Melinda Curtis: 5 sweet romances in my December TBR pile

December can be stressful. Why not take time for yourself with a sweet romance? If you haven't heard, sweet romances have no explicit sex, but most still create that heart-fluttering feeling of falling in love. Here are some of the titles in my sweet TBR pile for this month (blurbs courtesy of the publishers):

A League of Her Own by Karen Rock. Heather Gadway may have been a world-class college pitcher and a top university coach, but she's a rank amateur when it comes to managing the Falcons, her father's struggling minor league team. And when it comes to managing her aggravating attraction to Garrett Wolf, their talented new pitcher. It's going to be difficult enough to make it as the first female manager in the league and prove to her overly critical father she's worthy. Everything stands between Heather and Garrett, including their troubled pasts.

The Wedding Belle (Colorado Billionaires book four) by Regina Duke. Belle Daireng's dream career brings heartbreak, betrayal and the threat of a lawsuit. Her reason for becoming a nurse was born of a secret that could destroy her future hope for happiness. But right now, she'd settle for any job that would ease her financial worries. Ulysses Garrison's secrets could cost his family billions. The last thing he wants is a full-time nurse telling him what to do and driving him crazy with her athletic beauty. If only he hadn't told that first lie. Now he has even more secrets, and one of them is his growing love for Belle.

If you're interested in inspirational romance …

The Nanny Arrangement by Lily George. In this Love Inspired Historical, becoming nursemaid to Paul Holmes's orphaned niece seems like the perfect solution to Becky Siddons's problems. After having her romantic hopes dashed, she's determined to focus solely on her charge and not the little girl's handsome uncle. Until Becky realizes she is losing her heart to a man determined to keep his own under lock and key. Paul had hoped hiring Becky would allow him to keep a distance from his niece, a reminder of his late sister — and his failings in raising her. Yet he soon finds himself enjoying spending time with outspoken, impulsive Becky and the child. Can he take a chance on this unexpected, joyful new family?

Deadly Holiday by Margaret Daley. In this inspirational holiday romance, Tory Caldwell witnesses a hit-and-run, but when the dead victim disappears from the scene, police doubt a crime has been committed. Tory is threatened when she keeps insisting she saw a man killed and the only one who believes her is her neighbor, Jordan Steele. Can they solve the mystery of the disappearing body and stay alive?

By Christmas (Covington Falls Chronicles book four) by Kristin Wallace. In this inspirational holiday romance, Noelle Joy Robinson should have been spending Christmas with her husband. Instead, she's become the face of jilted brides in Covington Falls after her fiancé runs off with one of her bridesmaids on her wedding day. To escape the constant sympathy, she decides to leave town and start over in a new city. But when her father has a health crisis, it falls to Noelle to save the family business and Christmas for the entire town. Soon she's knee-deep in parades, dealing with a cantankerous ass (the animal kind) and negotiating disputes with Santa's elves. But a different kind of animal is threatening to disrupt her peace on earth. An angel named Michael Campbell, the brother of the man who broke her heart.
