State of Romance: Things are getting hot in Georgia

Monday's federal holiday remembered an American hero — Martin Luther King Jr. Born on Jan. 15, 1929, in Atlanta, King received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 for combating racial inequality with his non-violence movement. To celebrate King's legacy, State of Romance visits Georgia, the Peach State.

Contemporary romance sizzles with Mary Kay Andrews' Deep Dish, Fern Michaels' Trading Places and Rita Herron's Sleepless in Savannah.

Romantic suspense storms Georgia's coast — Maggie Toussaint finds Rough Waters with a Navy SEAL, Marnie Pehrson savors Savannah Nights and Ann Merritt finds the Winds of Fire on Tybee Island.

Paranormal romance takes a walk on the hot side with Cynthia Eden's Hotter After Midnight, Ilona Andrews' Magic Bites, Seressia Glass' Shadowchasers and Lynn Viehl's Stay the Night.

Young Adult marches through Georgia with Jennifer Echols' The One That I Want, Jana Oliver's Forsaken and Denise Hildreth Jones' Savannah by the Sea.

Cozy mysteries offer comedic relief in Stephanie Bond's 4 Bodies and a Funeral, Kathryn Hogan Trocheck's Every Crooked Nanny and Livia Washburn's For Whom the Funeral Bell Tolls.

Let's not forget Georgia's history from the pages of Frances Patton Stratham's From Love's Ashes, Kinley MacGregor's A Pirate of Her Own and Margaret Mitchell's Gone With the Wind — an American classic.
