Must-see book trailers: 'Collide' and 'Steam Me Up, Rawley'

Friends,

I am having an affair with audiobooks. With a long commute one day per week and many other hours spent in my car, I have hoarded ... I mean, collected ... a bunch on my iPhone. This week I have indulged in a little old-school romance with Flowers From the Storm by Laura Kinsale, and I fell in love with a bad boy in Better When He's Bad by Jay Crownover. Are you listening to your new favorite books?

The trailer for Collide by Melissa West is chock full of sci-fi romance goodness. The video for this YA has the full-bodied feel of the latest epic adventure with a strong female protagonist. The images and live-action video are cinematic and foreboding. The soundtrack and script drive the point home that the heroine faces almost insurmountable odds as she tries to save the boy she loves.

Steam Me Up, Rawley by Angela Quarles is a fun steampunk romance, and the video showcases it. Designed to remind you of an old-fashioned silent movie, it uses still images and captioned pages to guide you through the story. I love the mellow music and the black, silhouette accents. Well done!
