Tracy March on fantasy dates
Tracy March, author of The Marriage Match, asks: What would you do if you had to go on someone else's fantasy date?
Tracy: Ah, the fabled fantasy date. It's the stuff that dreams are made of! But one person's dream fantasy date might be another's nightmare. Everyone has their own ideas about what would make a date perfect from start to finish, and memorable in every way. Think of yours … Does it include a powdery-sand beach, an exotic foreign city, a hilly green winery?
I'd take a sunny, blue-sky day in the Rocky Mountains, a hike to a beautiful view, a yummy picnic among the wildflowers (with country ham and brie sandwiches and Diet Coke!), and my superhero husband making me laugh and holding my hand. *Swoons*
In my latest romance, The Marriage Match, a sexy resort tycoon is looking for love a la The Bachelor, and he comes up with the fantasy date plans — a sure way to weed out girls who aren't compatible with him. Imagine … You get to go on someone else's fantasy date. How thrilled would you be? Guess that depends on the someone and the plans, right? ;)
Turns out our hot bachelor is kind of quirky. He loves Caribbean island lore and culture, and he might take you by seaplane to a local conch-cracking festival in the balmy Bahamas. Conch chowder, anyone? Maybe you'd sail on a luxurious yacht to Little Water Cay in sunny Turks and Caicos, a pristine-beach-lined nature preserve crawling with hundreds of rock iguanas — because nothing says romance like iguanas! Or you could be the lucky girl he takes to magical Jamaica. Along the emerald shores of Ocho Rios, you'd climb Dunn's River Falls before he whisked you away by helicopter to Negril for a little sunset cliff diving. Are you in?
Hmm … Seems that going on your sweetheart's fantasy date might not be what you had in mind for yours! Conch-cracking, iguanas, waterfall climbing, cliff-diving. Would your fantasy date include anything on that list? Tell me your idea of the perfect date, and your guy's, too. Would you need to plan two fantasy dates because your ideas are so different? Now that I think about it, I don't see a problem with that! ;)
Here's to every date being a fantasy come true!
Here's the blurb about The Marriage Match (courtesy of Entangled Bliss):
Hot bachelor seeks bride…
Resort tycoon Trent Hawthorne is looking for a wife. His all-business, no-nonsense grandmother (and the matriarch of the small town of Maple Creek) has selected three potential brides―all beautiful and approved. Each "fantasy date" will take place in a lush Caribbean setting, filmed like a reality show to promote the Hawthorne family's chain of resorts. All of Trent's hopes for love combined with a clever marketing gimmick…what could possibly go wrong?
As it turns out, all it takes is a kiss. A sizzling, sweet-as-sin kiss. But Cynthia Sawyer isn't one of the bachelorettes, and she's definitely not supposed to be making out with her boss's sexy grandson. Not to mention it's strictly against company policy. But Cynthia has her own reasons for hooking Trent up with a bride who isn't her as soon as possible. And losing her heart is a price that she's willing to pay…
