More of Kristan Higgins' favorite romantic books

In honor of Valentine's Day next weekend, Paste BN asked romance favorite Kristan Higgins, whose next release is If You Only Knew in June, to put together a list of her top romantic books. We asked her to limit herself to 10, but like most authors, she got carried away. : ) You can see her top 10 here, and here's five more that she couldn't bear not to mention.

Kristan: Love and affection are shown in many forms on Valentine's Day … sweaty palms as you realize you've forgotten to order flowers, a smoke-filled kitchen as you attempt to cook a dessert beyond your capabilities … or, in some cases, a thoughtfully chosen book full of emotion and tenderness and an uplifting ending. However you show it, love is in the air, and in the pages of some of my favorite romantic reads. Ten are listed here, and here are five more:

• Three Weeks with Lady X by Eloisa James. To say that Eloisa James has never written a better book … well, come on! Every time I read one of hers, I think, "She'll never top this." And then she does.

Worth the Fall by Claudia Connor. Gorgeous, emotional debut about a single mom and a Navy SEAL. I cried. A lot. In the best ways.

Firelight at Mustang Ridge by Jesse Hayworth. Love the combination of emotion and humor, and the gorgeous setting doesn't hurt things one little bit.

Never Judge a Lady by Her Cover by Sarah MacLean. I hope Sarah writes for the rest of my life. In fact, I might request she read her stuff as I lay dying. I adore her books. She hasn't phoned it in ever.

The Next Thing on My List by Jill Smolinski. Heartfelt, realistic and funny with a fantastic plot and a wonderful ending.
