Author faves: 'Forensic Files,' London

Today's featured authors: Morticia Knight, author of The Fear of Surrender; Lily Harlem, author of Breathe You In; and Bailey Bradford, author of Belt Buckles & Cowboy Boots. They're talking favorites: reality TV, vacation destinations and fellow romance authors.

Morticia Knight, author of The Fear of Surrender

My three favorite reality TV shows:

• Vegas Strip. This show is about foot patrol cops on the Las Vegas Strip. It is unbelievably entertaining — there's no other place like Vegas for outlandish antics. There was one cop in particular who became the inspiration for Shawn in the first Sin City Uniforms book — he was able to let all the insanity roll right off of him and never lost his humor.

• Forensic Files. I write a lot of crime/mysteries, and this show has helped me with ideas and/or facts in regards to solving murder cases. It's very professionally done with forensic scientists and without the overly cheesy or sensationalized re-enactments.

• I Wanna Marry Harry. Obviously, I'm all about the romance, so I had to have one show with love as the theme! I don't actually watch a lot of dating shows, but this one stood out as being a very unique concept. I loved the guy playing Harry — he was so unassuming and a real sweetheart.

About The Fear of Surrender (The Hampton Road Club series No. 3):

Master Thomas sees a submissive man aching for surrender. But can Linus be convinced not to fear The Hampton Road Club?

Linus never wants to return to Hampton Road after being attacked by a Master there. Even though he aches for the attention of Master Thomas—the one who he'd originally wanted—he isn't sure he can ever trust another Master not to abuse him again.

Thomas is furious with himself for not protecting the beautiful young submissive whose company he'd enjoyed on a few occasions. He's relieved that there have been some recent changes to help protect the men who offer themselves at the sadomasochism club. It's about time to bring Hampton Road into the progressive age of the 1920s. Now that the new rules are in place, perhaps he can woo Linus into giving him a chance.

As Thomas goes out of his way to be kind to him, Linus wonders if he's misjudged the Master. He's still not sure if there's a future for them. What if he never wants to surrender to another man? When he allows Thomas to teach him the joys of Dominance and submission, Linus discovers that he not only wants to surrender, he wants to be claimed permanently. If only Thomas' old life doesn't come back to haunt them and destroy their chance of being together forever.

Lily Harlem, author of Breathe You In

Three of my favorite vacation destinations:

I adore traveling and I have wonderful memories of distant places and grand plans for future adventures.

London is always a favorite and luckily close at hand for me. Whenever I'm there I feel like I'm stepping through time. The cobbled backstreets without the crowds are always inspirational.

Greece is another place that gives me tingles just thinking about, I once spent an amazing week exploring the Ionian Islands by boat and even now, if I shut my eyes the colors come flooding back to me. I've never been surrounded by such vivid blue.

• I also love to ski — though skiing doesn't always love me! — and a trip to the snowy Alps is a real treat over Christmas. A day on the slopes finished with an evening by a roaring fire sipping Glühwein is simply perfection.

About Breathe You In:

Soul-aching desire was only the first layer of emotion around a secret I had to keep for all of time.

If the road to heaven starts in hell, then I was ready to start climbing my way out and Ruben Strong was the man to accompany me. With his devastating good looks, seductively sexy charm and lust for adrenaline, he was sure to make it a sensual and erotic experience as well as one to re-awake the passionate, throw-caution-to-the-wind woman I'd once been.

I'd given Ruben something, though, without him realizing, and that gift had come from the man I'd loved before. But I couldn't tell Ruben. I had to keep that a tight secret even on the nights our naked bodies wound together, sought out pleasure and hit the dizzy heights of ecstasy—because Ruben had my husband's heart, literally, and that heart was still in love with me, so it seemed, and now I was in love with Ruben.

Emotions tangled with bliss and fears were locked away as I surrendered to the touch of Ruben's hands, the taste of his skin and the sounds of his pleasure. I couldn't deny that Ruben had brought me back to life the same way I had him, and there was no way I was giving up that feeling, not for anyone.

Bailey Bradford, author of Belt Buckles & Cowboy Boots

Three of my favorite fellow romance authors:

Oh, this is tough because I have so many! Dozens, but let's start with MA Church, Morticia Knight and TK Paige. Not only are the wonderful authors who know how to write an excellent sexy romance, they're also amazing people. And they all have a wicked sense of humor! If you haven't read their books, I hope you'll give them a shot, and follow these fabulous authors on Facebook and Twitter and everywhere else they appear!

About Belt Buckles & Cowboy Boots:

Lessons learned from past betrayals can protect Colby Vincent's heart or cost him a chance at happiness he never thought to have.

Colby thought he'd never let anyone close again after being betrayed by everyone he loved, but one closeted, stubborn oilfield worker with a penchant for dressing like a cowboy seems determined to out himself and win Colby's heart. It's as if Hunter Talamentez walked right out of Colby's fantasies and into the convenience store where Colby works.

But Hunter is closeted, and he's never considered changing that. He's got his homophobic cousin with him, a family that he knows won't support him if they know the truth about who he is and a job where being out could get him hurt. He resigned himself to spending his life alone until he gets to know Colby. Then he embarks on a journey with Colby that will change their lives if only they both find the strength to take a few chances.

Nothing comes easily, and learning to give from the heart when that heart has been shattered twice before might be more than Colby is capable of. He isn't sure about having more than a fling with Hunter, yet he can't seem to stay away from the man, either. What was meant to be one night together turns into more, and Colby loses his ability to keep Hunter at the safe distance he'd wanted.
