Time to meet the cast of P.A. DePaul's latest
P.A. DePaul, author of Shadow of Doubt, out today, introduces us to the cast of characters in her SBG series. Shadow of Doubt is book two in the series.
About Shadow of Doubt (courtesy of InterMix):
When her secretly filmed tryst shows up on the internet, Michelle Alger goes on the run. She has no choice. Not only was her one-night stand the son of a US senator, but he's been murdered—and she's the number one suspect. With both the senator and an avenging drug lord on her trail, her life is in danger. There's only man she can trust. He saved her once, but will he still be her hero six years later?
Captain Jeremy Malone and the rest of Delta Squad have the senator's order: find the mystery woman who killed my son. But to Jeremy, she's no mystery. Six years ago his team of Green Berets rescued her from the torturous clutches of a Colombian cartel, and he's never forgotten her. His personal and covert mission: find Michelle before anyone else. When he and Michelle do meet again, the sparks are explosive and consuming. They're also dangerous as hell.
Because with each new bit of evidence, Jeremy suspects that Michelle's innocence may be a ruse—a beautiful trap set by a woman who has even more secrets yet to bare.
P.A. tells us about the characters …
P.A.: Welcome to the world of SweetBriar Group — or SBG as the operatives like to call it — a corporation the rest of the world believes is an environmental company, but is really a front for a privately funded clandestine agency.
Delta Squad is one of SBG's Black Ops teams. It's made up of men and women who have their ups and downs, good days and bad days like the rest of us. They laugh, fight, cry and squabble, but in the end, they are a fully functioning, extremely cohesive group who are closer than family. They've learned to rely on each other to the point they're considered the best of the best.
Want to meet the lethal set of operators who get the job done no matter what? All right! My kind of readers. ;) Without further ado, I give you Delta Squad:
Cappy, commanding officer (CO). His real name is Jeremy Malone and he's a former captain in the Green Berets. He's extremely cool under pressure, considered a "Boy Scout" by the way he follows and enforces the rules, and an extremely good strategist.
Wraith, sniper. Also known as Sandra Walsh, she began her training in the FBI Academy before being recruited by SBG. She's unflappable, able to compartmentalize her emotions, and even though her specialty would state otherwise, she has a huge heart.
Grady, civilian and former Marine. His full name is Casper Grady and he became involved with Delta Squad when he fell in love with Wraith. He's a huge advocate for fighting for anyone unable stand up for themselves as well as a fierce protector with a kind heart.
Romeo, explosives expert. With his extreme good looks, he's the playboy of the squad and prior to SBG, he was a bomb technician in New York. To say he loves women is an understatement. He's exceptionally adept at reading the opposite sex and utilizes the skill as missions call for it. He has a huge sense of humor and is an unrepentant avid reader of romance novels (romantic suspense and paranormal are his favorites).
Magician, disguise expert. She is beyond beautiful and a female version of Romeo, except a little more subtle. She is usually partnered with Romeo and they both can manipulate people and situations with their looks and skills. Prior to SBG she had a theater background which taught her how to develop and execute disguises for the team. She prefers straight-talking and likes to observe situations before she opens her mouth to speak.
Talon, infiltration and acquisitions expert. Prior to SBG, he lived on the streets and became so adept with knives he's a legend in the SBG world. He's cold and standoffish and has no problem speaking out and causing confrontations.
Ted, computer genius. Ted Byrnes is the nephew of Victor Dalmingo, CEO of SweetBriar Group before Delta Squad helped put him in jail. He's extremely good with computers and gadgets but uncomfortable and awkward around people.
I'm so glad I got to spend time with you today. Thank you, Joyce, and Paste BN's Happy Ever After for hosting me!
I hope everyone enjoys escaping into the SBG world as much as I do. Do you have any questions or just want to say hi? I'd love to talk! Don't be shy. Leave a comment, it'll make my day. : )
