Lia Davis recs some paranormal romance for summer

Lia Davis, author of paranormal romance A Leopard's Path (out now!), lets us know her picks for must-read PNR this summer.

Lia: Hi! I'm Lia Davis, paranormal romance author of alpha male shifters, vampires, dragons and more. My love for reading about creatures that stalk the night, and day, greatly influences my creative side. There is just something about the alpha male hero and strong heroines that draws me in and leaves me begging for more.

About my new release, A Leopard's Path:

Ashwood Falls is where wolves and big cat shifters live together as one pack. A Leopard's Path is the fifth book in the 10-book series. It was bittersweet for me. I love Ana and Kieran, but the reality that the series is winding up makes me a little sad. But who knows what my muse will come up with for the future? *wink*

I'm a little behind on my TBR pile, but I steal a few moments time to time to read. Below aren't my only top picks, but are definitely in my top 10 recommended reads in paranormal romance. They're great reading by the pool, on the beach with a tall cold cocktail or other beverage of your liking, or anywhere you'd like.

Fifth Grave Past the Light by Darynda Jones. This is the fifth book in the Charley Davidson series. I LOVE this series. Love Charley and her sarcastic humor. Plus there is a smoking HOT guy her life. Charley is a PI and also a grim reaper. The hot male in her life is … well, you have to read the series if you haven't already to find out. You'll thank me for it. *grins*

Heart of Obsidian by Nalini Singh. I started the Psy/Changeling series in 2012 and read them back to back until I got caught up. I love the world and the author's voice. Of course I had to wait for this book to come out and to see who the ghost was. Oh man! I loved this story and the series plot shift. That's all I'm saying. However, I'm behind on the series again due to my own crazy schedule, but I know what's going on my Kindle for the next flight or road trip!

Lover at Last by J.R. Ward. I squee'd and jumped up and down in excitement when J.R. made the announcement that Blay and Qhuinn would get a full-length novel in the series. Loved, loved, loved this book!! BDB was one of the first paranormal series I read that started my obsession with the genre. I have a not-so-secret crush on Wrath and Rhage.

Edge of Dawn by Lara Adrian. Another amazing vampire series and a great new plot arc. This book jumps ahead 30 years and after the humans discover the existences of the breed. Now we get to see the children all grown up and working for the Order. I do recommend reading the series from the beginning to follow the backstory.

There are many more great PNR series and books out there. I wish I had more time to read or at least have someone follow me around and read to me. Hmm …

Have an amazing summer filled with friends, family, and book boyfriends!
