Shakir Rashaan recaps 'Power': Things get explosive and bloody

You can normally find me on my regular posts, Manly Musings, but I'm devoting some extra time to recapping episodes of Starz's hit show, Power.

Let's get started, shall we?

I'm hoping you've had the chance to see last week's episode of Power. If you didn't, then you can catch my recap here.

Here's some of what we know after the first two episodes of this season:

• Angela and Ghost are heading to Miami. Ghost is handling business for Stern and finding a way to erase the girl in the pink shoes.

• Tasha is giving Shawn the brush-off, now that she thinks she has Ghost back.

• Kanan is still on the warpath, trying to find the girl in the pink shoes and erase her before Ghost finds her.

• Tommy and Ghost are having trouble putting the pieces back together to get Lobos' product distributed and sold.

• Stern has Ghost doing grunge work as a byproduct of their "partnership," while Kantos has made his own deal with the devil to get what he wants most: a chance to run his own club again.

• Ghost is finding himself unable to figure out whom he can trust. Now that Kanan is back in the picture, things have really begun to unravel.

• Angela is doing whatever it takes to get the positive ID on "Ghost," including some bend-the-rules actions that may come back to haunt her.

Going into the third episode, I have even more questions in my mind as other questions were answered, and in this episode, things have gotten bloodier … boy, did they ever get bloodier!

I'll get to that in a minute, but let's start with the lovely couple, spending time in Miami, trying to figure out the "happy ever after" part of the program.

Ghost and Angela are living it up in Miami, acting like a couple in love, not realizing that the house of cards they've built is threatening to come down around them.

Things get explosive on a few levels, with the happy couple indulging in each other, only to have Ghost trying to erase what he knows about Angela, and failing miserably. Angela, on the other hand, knowing what she knows about "Ghost," is caught trying to figure out how she can save her man and get Ghost at the same time. She knows she has to figure it out, but that puts her in a very difficult position. Hearing from Greg doesn't help matters, as it begins to grind on Ghost's nerves, but Angela convinces him that Greg is business only. Despite all of that, they still plan to start over in Miami, with Ghost asking if Angela really wants to throw it all away and start anew with him.

Tommy is playing into Kanan's plans without even realizing it. When Julio tells Tommy in front of Kanan that Ghost has found the assassin, Kanan manages to get one of his heavies to fly to Miami to kill the girl before Ghost does. Later, we find the new dynamic duo hitting Q-Dubbs and the RSKs to try to figure out what can be done to get them back on board. Q-Dubbs already doesn't like or trust Kanan, leaving Tommy to be the diplomat in the situation.

Remember when I said things got bloodier this episode? Let's just say the negotiations went south really fast!

The story line twist of the early season belongs to Tasha's "I don't want him, but actually I want him" flip-flopping over Shawn, which has now been complicated by an unexpected connection and lust affair that she didn't see coming. It's got her all twisted, acting like a jealous girlfriend despite the fact that she's married!

Now, back to Ghost and the girl with the pink shoes …

Ghost is having dinner with Angela in one of the restaurants that was near where he located the girl. In a wild coincidence, she walks into the restaurant to order something to go. She spots Ghost, Ghost spots her, and she rushes out of the restaurant before Ghost can react. Under the guise of "going to the bathroom," he pursues her.

Only, Kanan's heavy is in pursuit, too, after tailing Ghost to find her.

The chase ends in the girl's death, and a revelation that will change the game!

Of course, I'm not telling everything that happened in this episode, but here are some of the more interesting highlights to take into the next episode:

• Is Tommy about to make Kanan his new right hand? How is Ghost gonna feel about that?

• Will Ghost be able to keep Angela's bloodlust to catch "Ghost" at bay?

• Is Tasha going to be OK with losing her boy toy, or is she going to make a play that might complicate matters even further?

• And finally, what will happen once Ghost and Angela get back to New York?
