A hunting we will go with Sara Humphreys and Samantha Chase
Sara Humphreys and Samantha Chase are celebrating their new releases — Brave the Heat (Sept. 1) for Sara and Made for Us (today!) for Samantha — with a scavenger hunt that's kicking off today (Aug. 3) at 10 a.m. ET on Facebook. Sara has the details …
Sara: What's more fun than celebrating one book release? Celebrating two!
When my friend Samantha Chase asked me to team up with her to promote our new contemporary romances, Made for Us and Brave the Heat (9/1), I couldn't say YES fast enough. Aside from the fact that she's awesome — because she is — joining forces is a natural fit because both of our series are brand new family sagas. Made for Us is book one in The Shaughnessy Brothers, and Brave the Heat is the first installment of The McGuire Brothers.
A match made in Romancelandia heaven.
One of the finest qualities of the romance writing community is the generosity that often occurs between writers. Authors are more than happy to help each other. It's not difficult to be generous, because romance readers are voracious.
I did an online survey earlier this year and out of the 150 readers who participated, 45% of them said that they read 100-plus books a year.
That's a lot of books!
Needless to say, most authors are happy to promote their fellow writers because it's a win-win. Readers find new authors and authors find new readers. However, in the busy world of social media promotion, the question remains: How do we get the word out to readers?
Samantha and I have decided to try something a little different. Since our books release about 30 days apart, we have put together a month-long scavenger hunt on Facebook. This larger party is being "book-ended" by individual launch parties for each series.
We hope it will be a great way to engage with our readers, old and new alike, and a fun experience for all involved.
Here's how it works:
• Once a day during the hunt, pop in to see what the scavenger hunt "item" is for that day.
• Then post your "treasure" in the comments section of the daily thread.
• Play every day or several days during the month.
Some days there will be multiple winners!
All you need in order to participate is your computer and a competitive spirit.
The prizes range from gift cards (ranging from $5 to $50), goody bags, swag, books, mugs, mouse pads, a Kindle and more!
There are literally hundreds of dollars' worth of prizes up for grabs!
It's easy to play and there are winners every single day.
Our online adventure begins at 10 a.m. ET today (Aug. 3) and runs through Sept. 1.
To join the fun, visit the scavenger hunt's event page on Facebook.
So whadya say? Are you game?
About Made for Us by Samantha Chase (courtesy of Sourcebooks):
Can't make time for love?
The Shaughnessy brothers have spent the years since their mother's untimely death taking care of each other and trying to make their father proud. Oldest son Aidan is hard-working, handsome, successful-and still single. Sure, he'd like to have his own family someday, but who has the time?
She'll show him how to find it
Zoe Dalton, a stunning designer Aidan meets on one of his construction jobs, has the beauty and heart to make Aidan realize how much he could be missing. But it's not easy to break down walls you've spent years building up. Now there's a major storm bearing down on the North Carolina coast, and it could be catalyst enough to force Aidan and Zoe into some major decisions of the heart.
About Brave the Heat by Sara Humphreys (courtesy of Sourcebooks):
The only fire he can't put out...
Jordan McKenna is back in town, and Fire Chief Gavin Maguire's feelings when he sees her after all these years are as raw as the day she left. Then he was just a kid wearing his heart on his sleeve. Now he spends every day trying to atone for the tragedy he couldn't prevent.
Is the torch he carries for her...
Jordan's life has not exactly worked out the way she expected. A divorced mother of two with a failed acting career, Jordan's biggest concern about coming back to Old Brookfield was seeing her first love. But when a series of suspicious fires breaks out, Jordan and Gavin realize that dealing with the sparks between them may be the least dangerous of their problems.
