Celeb superlatives: KStew, Harry & Hermione
Paste BN's Donna Freydkin digs through the latest celebrity news for highlights ... and lowlights. Think high school yearbook superlatives — if Sandra Bullock and Kristen Stewart were classmates.
Cutest public outing: Sandra Bullock and her son Louis celebrating Mardi Gras in New Orleans. It's her tot's hometown. And seeing mom and Louis partying up a storm and getting into the carnival spirit was all that, and much more. Especially for a parent who mostly keeps her kid out of any intrusive camera lenses.
Most ludicrous online coupling rumor: Prince Harry and Hermione. Sorry, we meant Emma Watson. Suddenly, rumors were flying that the royal wild child and the actress were a thing. Dreamy, right? Sorry, folks, Watson won't be donning a crown anytime soon. "WORLD ♥ Remember that little talk we had about not believing everything written in the media?!" she tweeted.
Best career shift: Scarlett Johansson. We already knew the new mom could sing. And now she has a new single out, Candy, with her band, The Singles. The song is fun and fizzy. And the whole idea, Johansson told Rolling Stone, was to make "super-pop dance music written and performed by girls." Well played.
Most high-profile public appearance: Miley Cyrus and her "bae" Patrick Schwarzenegger, son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver. Who cares whether she knows how to spell his name? The singer and her model/actor boyfriend were all about each other at Tom Ford's insanely glitzy Oscar-weekend fashion show in L.A., just weeks after canoodling at a Feb. 7 pre-Grammy party.
Most notable retirement from social media: Iggy Azalea. The Aussie rapper just wants some down time. And hence, she's signing off — for now. "I just want to have peace and relaxation time without a perve with long distance lens hiding out taking pictures, everyone deserves peace," she wrote, referring to snaps of her taken on vacation. "I feel the hatred and pettiness i see online at all times is at making me become an angry person and I cannot be that," she wrote. We'll see how long that keeps your fancy, Iggy.
Best show of true amour: Kristen Stewart, who was the first, yes first, American actress to win a French César, the country's equivalent of the Oscar. Forget Twilight. This prize was for playing Juliette Binoche's assistant in Clouds of Sils Maria.
