MONDAY, 1/23

Revisit: On this day, the original miniseries Roots debuted in 1977 on ABC. The miniseries, based on Alex Haley's best-selling novel Roots: The Saga of an American Family, was remade in 2016.

TUESDAY, 1/24

Watch: The Season 5 premiere of Chopped Junior airs on the Food Network at 8 p.m. ET/PT. In this episode, entitled "Chicken and Do-Nots," chefs Daniel Churchill, Marcus Samuelsson and actress Allison Williams join host Ted Allen.

WEDNESDAY, 1/25

Stream: The Path returns to Hulu. In this second season, the show, starring Aaron Paul, Michelle Monaghan and Hugh Dancy, follows the Meyerist Movement as it tries to make sense of Dr. Meyer’s mysterious departure.

THURSDAY, 1/26

Attend: Miranda Lambert officially kicks off her Highway Vagabond Tour, in Evansville, Ind., with special guest Old Dominion and Aubrie Sellers. The tour, in support of her album The Weight of These Wings, released last November, will also have stops in Providence, Wichita, Tulsa and Grand Rapids, Mich.

FRIDAY, 1/27

See: The sixth and final film in the Resident Evil franchise, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, opens nationwide in theaters. This installment picks up where the last left off and finds Alice, played by Milla Jovovich, returning to where it all began, The Hive in Raccoon City.  The film also stars Ali Larter, Shawn Roberts and Ruby Rose.
