Pilgrimage Festival 2019 Lineup: Foo Fighters, The Killers, Keith Urban
After being sidelined by thunderstorms last year, the Pilgrimage festival plans to come roaring back to life in 2019 – with its loudest headliners ever.
Modern rock giants Foo Fighters, The Killers and country guitar-slinger Keith Urban will headline the fifth annual Pilgrimage, taking place September 21-22 at the Park at Harlinsdale in Franklin, Tennessee.
They’re joined by a slew of respected Americana, rock and soul performers, including Leon Bridges, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats and The Head & the Heart.

A few bookings are welcome surprises, such as ‘90s alt-rock titans Live (who recently reunited with frontman Ed Kowalczyk) and rising Christian star Lauren Daigle.
Other highlights include Jenny Lewis, Phosphorescent, Edie Brickell & New Bohemians, Better Than Ezra, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Rayland Baxter, Justin Townes Earle, The War And Treaty, The Wild Reeds, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Adia Victoria and Molly Tuttle.
Tickets go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. CDT Friday, March 15, at www.pilgrimagefestival.com, but an exclusive presale for American Express card members is running until 10 p.m. CDT Thursday.
Since its inception in 2015, Pilgrimage has brought the likes of Justin Timberlake, Eddie Vedder, Willie Nelson, Wilco, Beck, Hall & Oates and others to the rolling hills of Harlinsdale. They enjoyed their first sellout in 2017, thanks to the presence of Timberlake, who is also a partner and producer of the festival.
Last year’s promising edition – with headliners Chris Stapleton, Jack White, Lionel Richie and Dave Matthews with Tim Reynolds – was foiled by thunderstorms and relentless rainfall. The festival closed halfway through its first day, and eventually canceled the remainder of the event. (Refunds were offered for the 75 percent of the festival that didn’t happen.)
In the lead-up to the 2019 lineup announcement, some fans were hoping for the return of last year’s would-be headliners. Instead, the only returning performers are found further down the bill: indie rocker Caroline Rose and Nashville singer-songwriter Devon Gilfillian.
2019 PILGRIMAGE FESTIVAL: More police, reliable WiFi among recommendations
Though he's not on this year's bill, Timberlake continues to have a hand in booking Pilgrimage. According to the founders, he's wanted Leon Bridges to perform for the last three years, but the roots/soul artist wasn't available on those dates. This year, the stars finally aligned.
"He has a ton of ideas, and he’s as busy as all of us put together, but his fingerprints are on it," said co-founder Brandt Wood.
