Distress calls are part of the job for Minnesota deputy Nate Jacobson, but this rescue operation is particularly hairy.

Jacobson, an officer with the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office in Rochester, found a baby skunk on the road that appeared to be dehydrated.

At the risk of being sprayed, he took the little creature by car to an animal shelter. The young skunk was given fluids from a bottle.

Surprisingly, the skunk didn't attack the deputy with its odor the entire time!

The animal is doing well and will be cared for by the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of Minnesota with Paws and Claws Humane Society animal shelter.

Watch the successful rescue mission captured in the video above.
