A fearless father rescues a tangled turtle from danger in the choppy waters of Florida

A boat trip became a mission of mercy for Blake Fish and his family off the coast of Tampa Bay, Florida, when they spotted a sea turtle struggling in the water in a busy shipping lane.
They soon realized the loggerhead turtle was caught in a rope attached to a crab trap. Immediately, they called the Florida Wildlife Commission for help. Sea turtles are on the endangered species list. However, unfortunately, no marine biologist was available in the area. So, Blake took matters into his own hands, jumping into the water to rescue the distressed animal.

Wearing only a small flotation device, Blake began to haul the crab trap with the turtle attached toward the boat as his wife, Lindsey, struggled to keep the vessel close in the strong current.
Eventually, Blake, Lindsey, and their 11-year-old son Parker were able to drag the crab trap onboard and release the rope, setting the turtle free.
After their heroics, they sent their footage and photos of the rescue to the authorities for logging in an official report.
