1. The White Princess by Philippa Gregory (Touchstone, fiction, on sale July 23)
What it's about: A novel about Elizabeth of York, daughter of England's "White Queen," and her relationships with Richard III and Henry Tudor.
The buzz: The latest in Gregory's "Cousins War" series arrives just a few weeks before the TV adaptation of her novel The White Queen begins on Starz on Aug. 10.
2. Light of the World by James Lee Burke (Simon & Schuster, fiction, on sale July 23
What it's about: In Burke's 20th Dave Robicheaux novel, the Louisiana detective vacations in Montana's Big Sky country, only to have a lurking "venomous presence" spoil the summertime fun.
The buzz: Burke has had 22 Paste BN best sellers, and his 2012 Robicheaux novel, Creole Belle, made it to No. 20 on the list.
3. & Sons by David Gilbert (Random House, fiction, on sale July 23)
What it's about: Novel about fathers and son centers on a Salinger-like novelist named A.N. Dyer, author of a teen-angst classic called Ampersand.
The buzz: Sports a jacket blurb from John Irving, who says: "The writing is gorgeous."
4. On the Noodle Road: From Beijing to Rome with Love and Pasta by Jen Lin-Liu (Riverhead, non-fiction, on sale July 23)
What it's about: The author takes a multi-country foodie road trip in search of the question: Who really invented the noodle?
The buzz: "Lin-Liu's journey is a bold palate-awakening adventure, endearingly rendered," says Publishers Weekly.
5. Coming Clean by Kimberly Rae Miller (Amazon/New Harvest, non-fiction, on sale July 23)
What it's about: A debut memoir about the author's hoarder father, and the pain of keeping it a secret from childhood on.
The buzz: "An engrossing, sympathetic exploration of living with hoarder parents," says Kirkus Reviews.
