National Book Award fiction long list announced
The National Book Foundation has anounced the long list for the fiction National Book Award. The list of 10 titles includes All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr (Scribner), which reached No. 27 on Paste BN's Best-Selling Books list.

- Elizabeth McCracken , Thunderstruck & Other Stories (The Dial Press)
- Richard Powers , Orfeo (W.W. Norton)
- Marilynne Robinson , Lila (Farrar, Straus and Giroux)
- Jane Smiley , Some Luck (Knopf)
The shortlists for the awards will be announced on Oct. 15, and the winners will be revealed at a ceremony on Nov. 19 in New York.
