2. Yes Please by Amy Poehler (Dey St., non-fiction, on sale Oct. 28)

What it's about: Personal musings by the star of the NBC hit Parks and Recreation.

The buzz: Poehler joins the parade of funny ladies (see Tina Fey, Chelsea Handler, Mindy Kaling) writing books.

3. Jerry Lee Lewis: His Own Story by Rick Bragg (Harper, non-fiction, on sale Oct. 28)

What it's about: Great balls of fire! A memoir written with the cooperation of the "Killer" himself, now 79.

The buzz: Bragg wrote the best seller All Over But the Shoutin'.

4. De Niro: A Life by Shawn Levy (Crown Archetype, non-fiction, on sale Oct. 28)

What it's about: Portrait of the star of such classics as Raging Bull and Taxi Driver, as well as more curious choices late in his career.

The buzz: "A vivid, complex portrait of the enigmatic actor," says Kirkus Reviews.

5. The Peripheral by William Gibson (Putnam, fiction, on sale Oct. 28)

What it's about: Thirty years after Neuromancer, Gibson delivers a high-tech thriller that features quasi-human drones called Peripherals.

The buzz: "A standout," says Publishers Weekly.
