Police investigating theft of newest 'Fifty Shades'
Police are investigating the theft of the latest installment of Fifty Shades of Grey, one week before the book was supposed to publish, according Penguin Random House UK.
"We can confirm that the Kent police are investigating the theft of a finished copy of E.L. James's new book Grey," Natalie Higgins, a spokeswoman for Penguin Random House UK told Paste BN Network in an email.
The book's publisher, Random House, discovered that a copy of the book was missing and reported the incident to police on Tuesday, the BBC reported.
The first book in the Fifty Shades series became a best-selling phenomenon in 2012. The novel held a record-breaking No.1 spot on Paste BN's book list for 20 straight weeks.
Grey reimagines the Fifty Shades of Grey series, from Christian Grey's point of view. The book will still be published on June 18, "Christian Grey's birthday, as planned," according to Higgins.
