1. The House of Secrets by Brad Meltzer and Tod Goldberg (Grand Central, fiction, on sale June 7)
What it’s about: Launches a new series starring Hazel Nash, the grown daughter of Jack Nash, host of America’s favorite conspiracy TV show, The House of Secrets.
The buzz: Conspiracy theorists flock to Meltzer’s thrillers; his novel The President’s Shadow hit No. 8 on Paste BN’s Best-Selling Books list last summer.
2. The Eternal Party by Kristina Hagman with Elizabeth Kaye (Thomas Dunne Books, non-fiction, on sale June 7)
What it’s about: Subtitle: Understanding My Dad, Larry Hagman, the TV Star America Loved to Hate.
The buzz: J.R. Ewing’s grown daughter writes a memoir about her father, who died in 2012.
3. The Cavendon Luck by Barbara Taylor Bradford (St. Martin’s Press, fiction, on sale June 7)
What it’s about: Third book in family saga, set in England, moves into the World War II era for the residents of Cavendon Hall.
The buzz: “Bradford delivers,” says the Romantic Times.
4.Being Jazz: My Life as a (Transgender) Teen by Jazz Jennings (Crown Books for Young Readers, non-fiction, on sale June 7)
What it’s about: Jazz Jennings, now 15, talks about her transgender journey in this memoir.
The buzz: The TLC series I Am Jazz returns for a second season on June 8; the show just a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Reality Program (it tied with I Am Cait).
5. Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi (Knopf, fiction, on sale June 7)
What it’s about: Debut novel about two half-sisters born in 18th century Ghana; one marries into splendor, the other is sold into slavery in America.
The buzz: This Indie Next pick of independent booksellers sports a jacket blurb by Ta-Nehisi Coates: “Homegoing is an inspiration.”
