1. Testimony by Scott Turow (Grand Central, fiction, on sale May 16)

What it’s about: The International Criminal Court in The Hague taps a U.S. attorney to investigate the apparent massacre of an entire Gypsy refugee camp during the Bosnian War.

The buzz: Hard to believe, but 2017 marks the 40th anniversary of Turow’s One L and the 30th anniversary of Presumed Innocent.

2. Are You Anybody? by Jeffrey Tambor (Crown Archetype, non-fiction, on sale May 16)

What it’s about: Autobiographical essays from the actor (Transparent, Arrested Development).

The buzz: Tambor’s profile has risen considerably thanks to his Emmy Award-winning portrayal of transgender Maura Pfefferman on Amazon’s Transparent.

3. Same Beach, Next Year by Dorothea Benton Frank (William Morrow, fiction, on sale May 16)

What it’s about: In Frank’s latest “Lowcountry” novel, two couples enjoy a friendship over decades on a South Carolina barrier island.

The buzz: Seventeen of Frank’s Southern tales have been Paste BN best sellers.

4. Being a Dad Is Weird: Lessons in Fatherhood from My Family to Yours by Ben Falcone (Dey Street, non-fiction, on sale May 16)

What it’s about: The writer/director (Tammy, The Boss) shares stories about his dad and his own two daughters in this memoir out in time for Father’s Day.

The buzz: Melissa McCarthy (aka “Spicey”) writes the foreword to her hubby’s book.

5. 50 Years of Rolling Stone; introduction by Jann S. Wenner (Abrams, non-fiction, on sale May 16)

What it’s about: A celebration of the influential rock/pop culture magazine as it turns 50.

The buzz: The book coincides with a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame exhibit on the publication founded by Wenner in 1967.
