10 books on fiction long list for 2017 National Book Awards

The National Book Foundation has announced the long list of 10 books for the 2017 National Book Award for fiction. Finalists will be revealed on Oct. 4.

The National Book Award winners will be announced at a ceremony in New York on Nov. 15.

National Book Awards go to Colson Whitehead and Rep. John Lewis

Colson Whitehead's "The Underground Railroad" has won the National Book Award for fiction.
