Cristiano Ronaldo's 'do probably NOT inspired by Vanilla Ice

The USA vs. Portugal game was pretty gut-wrenching, with Portugal tying the game in the LAST MINUTE of play off of Cristiano Ronaldo's cross.

Maybe you were too distracted by Ronaldo's new hairstyle to notice his fancy footwork.

About the hair. We're just sure what inspired it, but it probably wasn't Vanilla Ice. According to this tweet, the 'do was perhaps not a fashion statement, but instead a tribute to Erik Ortiz Cruz, a young Spanish boy whose brain surgery was paid for by Ronaldo:
