Did Colbert just use Twitter to get de Blasio on his show?

First, Stephen Colbert tweeted at New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio. The mayor responded 22 minutes later:

Apparently, Colbert missed de Blasio's quick reply. So he fired another tweet at the mayor. Again, de Blasio replied that he's available Wednesday:

Colbert apologized:

Now, de Blasio is listed as Colbert's guest for Wednesday:

A successful Twitter booking! Or, it was just a clever publicity stunt. Either way, nice play, Colbert!
