Kevin Smith's 'Clerks 3' is a go, thanks to 'Tusk'
Director Kevin Smith's satirical horror film Tusk, which came out Sept. 19, hasn't exactly been burning up the box office. So far, it's brought in just under $1.5 million, according to Box Office Mojo.
But apparently that's enough money to scare up more screen time for Dante and Randal and (fingers crossed) Jay and Silent Bob in a third Clerks movie.
Smith revealed in his Hollywood Babble-On podcast on Friday that Tusk, his strange story about a man being transformed into a walrus, could pay the bills for Clerks 3. It's another go-round for the crew from the 1994 indie comedy about a very weird day at a New Jersey convenience store.
“Tusk was the absolute bridge to Clerks 3. Because of Tusk, I got my financing for Clerks 3,” Smith said.
And that probably means more roof-top hockey and conversations like this (miraculously, there's no language warning for this clip).
(Thanks to Entertainment Weekly for the heads up.)
