Foo Fighters cover Cheap Trick with Rick Nielsen
Cheap Trick founding guitarist Rick Nielsen plays on the new Foo Fighters single Something From Nothing, but Thursday night he sat in with the group as part of its week-long Late Show With David Letterman residency. Check out white-suited Foo drummer Taylor Hawkins singing Stiff Competition from Cheap Trick's 1978 Heaven Tonight album with Nielsen wailing away next to him.

The group has had guests on Letterman every night this week, staring with the Zac Brown Band, then Heart's Ann and Nancy Wilson and swamp-rocker Tony Joe White.
Also on Thursday, Foo Fighters debuted its new single Something From Nothing, recorded in Chicago with Nielsen on guitar. It'll appear on the group's Sonic Highways album, out Nov. 10.
