Of course there's an Ebola TV series in the works

With Ebola dominating the news, it's only a matter of time before we see it on the big and small screens.

One project has been in the works for quite a while.

Producer Lynda Obst and director/producer Ridley Scott are working on a limited series, based on Richard Preston's 1994 best-seller, The Hot Zone, which was all about the virus.

The Hollywood Reporter says the two optioned the book two decades ago, but it never progressed. At one point, says EW.com, Robert Redford and Jodie Foster were set to star.

Now, with the current outbreak, it seems to have been moved to the front burner, but no timeline for casting or production has been announced.
