Lorde's 'Royals' song banned in San Francisco (for now)




No Royals allowed!

Even though Lorde sings, "We'll never be royals...." in the chorus of her hit Royals song, two San Francisco radio stations have banned the song from their airwaves - at least while their town's beloved San Francisco Giants are taking on the Kansas City Royals in the World Series.

KFOG Radio and 96.5 KOIT say they're pulling Lorde's song for now.

In response, Kansas City radio station 99.7 The Point promises to play the song every hour from 7. a.m. to 7. p.m. on Tuesday, the day of the opening World Series game at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City.

Lorde has said the song was inspired by a photograph she saw of a ballplayer with Royals on his shirt. It turns out the photograph was of George Brett signing baseballs for fans.
