Taylor Swift previews 'Welcome to New York'

Apparently, Taylor Swift's in a New York state of mind.

Swift previewed the first track on her forthcoming 1989 album with a few seconds of effervescent synth-pop. In it, she sings about "searching for a sound you haven't heard before."

"New York has been an important landscape and location for the story of my life in the last couple of years," she says in an accompanying clip about the song. "The inspiration I found in that city is hard to describe and hard to compare to any other force of inspiration I've ever experienced in my life."
