Ryan Reynolds is super-duper creepy in these exclusive pics from ‘The Voices’
Forget lovable Van Wilder or sitcom-charming “Berg” Bergen or even heroic Green Lantern — Ryan Reynolds is full-on psycho crazypants in The Voices. Directed by Marjane Satrapi (Persepolis), the horror comedy hits theaters and on demand Feb. 6 after premiering this year at Sundance and also playing at the Toronto Film Festival.
We (unfortunately) haven’t seen it yet but these stills give a hint at the madness that ensues. Let’s have a look, shall we?
Reynolds stars as Jerry, a seemingly nice guy who works at a bathtub factory and has a crush on his co-worker Fiona (Gemma Arterton). Jerry’s psychiatrist (Jacki Weaver) encourages him to ask her out, but Fiona stands him up for a date. Maybe not the best idea.
Oh, did we forget to mention that Jerry’s guided by an evil talking cat and an equally chatty yet benevolent dog? So there’s that.
Yep, Jerry’s feeding Fiona and her head looks like it's been removed from her body. Could be worse, probably.
Hey, it’s Anna Kendrick! The Into the Woods star plays Lisa, another possible love interest for Jerry and maybe a key factor in him embracing normalcy — or maybe another victim because, you know, the whole crazypants thing.
You’ll have to wait till February to find out her fate. Until then, we’ll just be in the fetal position remembering Reynolds from his less psychopathic days.
