#TBT: The time 'Team America' killed Kim Jong Il

We really want to know what was going through the minds Trey Parker and Matt Stone  as they read the stories about Sony shelving The Interview, a comedy about a plot to kill North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, after the studio's computer network was hacked and theaters were threatened.

After all, the South Park masterminds murdered his father and predecessor, Kim Jong Il, on screen 10 years ago in Team America: World Police. (OK, so it was in puppet form.)

Warning: The language in the movie clips is NSFW!

You killed Kim Jong Il! You b*****!

But just like Kenny, he keeps coming back ...

It's hard being the dictator of a reclusive country

Parker and Stone also mocked him in musical form, with the memorable (and thanks to the character's accent, kinda racist) ballad I'm So Ronery.

"I think if the real Kim Jong Il ever sees that, he'll start crying," Parker said in a 2004 interview. "He'll probably see this movie and cry," added Matt Stone.

Actually, now we wonder if Team America would even have been released today.  What do you think?
