5 big moments from the 'Downton Abbey' premiere

Spoiler alert!

Don't read this if you haven't watched Sunday night's Season 5 premiere of Downton Abbey. It was filled with Downton-esque quotes and happenings. Here, we count down the highlights:

5. Molesey dyed his hair.

He clearly needed Just for Men, but this was 1924. So he had some other concoction to help him look younger. But it wasn't really working as he had hoped. Lord Grantham told him he was looking rather "Latin." And Miss Baxter guessed his age to be 52, but he's 51. Ouch.

4. Edith continues to be a sad case.

She visited firefighter Tim's house to see the secret baby she had last year. It was so obvious that Edith is obsessed with the kid that Tim is determined to come up with a plan that will allow her to be with daughter Marigold without revealing she's her mom.

3. Mary's warming up. Maybe.

She had some great ones, including:
"I'm going upstairs to take off my hat."
And to Lord Gillingham who has proposed to her and wants to run off to spend some time in the sack with her:
"I do love you in my cold and unfeeling way."

2. Daisy's got big dreams.

“All the best people are rubbish at numbers in school,” says Mrs. Patmore to Daisy and her fancy notions of learning how to keep the books in the event that she may one day take over the farm.

And the No. 1 moment of the night came at the end, of course.

1. Burnin' down the house!

Highclere caught fire. It was all Edith's fault. Fondling a book left behind by her lover Michael Gregson, she's weeping and in bed. She throws the book into her bedroom fireplace, but it catches fire and falls onto the carpet, starting the blaze. Edith! We'll have to see how much damage has been done.

Bonus: The Dowager Countess' best line of the night:

“There’s nothing simpler than avoiding people you don’t like. Avoiding one’s friends: that’s the real test.”
