Jennifer Aniston says Brad Pitt divorce isn't 'painful'
Jennifer Aniston rarely talks about Brad Pitt. But she uttered a sentence about her split from Pitt - and it's making headlines. Of course.
It happened in an interview with Lee Cowan on CBS Sunday Morning. A lengthy chat - going back over her comedic roots and her Friends success (including her love of mayonnaise sandwiches) to delving into her new, critically acclaimed, stripped-down role in Cake.
Her parents' divorce helped cultivate her "sense of humor," she says. And when Cowan asks about her own divorce, she brushes it off.
"The fact that it still follows you around—I mean, I'm divorced. It's gotta be painful," says Cowan. "I mean, I don't like it when people bring it up. But people still do, right?"
"I don't find it painful, though," Aniston said. "I think it's a narrative that follows you because it's an interesting headline. It's more of a media-driven topic."
Aniston has moved on. "Well, everybody has!" she adds with a chuckle.
But Cowan didn't move on from the line of questioning.
"You guys still talk?" he asked her. "You friends?"
"We've exchanged good wishes and all that sort of stuff to each other, but not a constant thing," Aniston replied. "I mean, do you talk to your ex-wife?"
"No," Cowan replied. "When I have to, I do."
