5 times 'Agent Carter' was a better hero than her male counterparts
Spoiler alert! The following contains spoilers for the first episode of Agent Carter.
Marvel's second foray into the world of television premiered on Tuesday night with none of the baggage or issues its cousin, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has. In fact, Agent Carter has a really, really big advantage over S.H.I.E.L.D., primarily in the form of the Agent herself, Miss Peggy Carter.
The Marvel character, first introduced in Captain America: The First Avenger (and you may remember seeing her in her old age in Captain America: The Winter Soldier) is quite a bit more than just Steve Rogers' love interest. In fact in the show's premiere Peggy proved to pretty much be the best and most consistently effective hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Need proof? We've rounded up five of the (many, many) examples of her awesomeness.
5. When she calmly walked down to the lobby to apprehend a suspect
While the boys ran after the bad guy without thinking, Peggy simply asked what was the fastest way down, then nailed the guy with a briefcase.
4. When she knocked a guy out with lipstick
It was really impeccable lipstick, too.
3. When she jumped on top of her getaway car while her butler drove away
Yup she's got a sidekick and -- besides one suspicious phone call -- he's pretty cool but not nearly as cool as Peggy.
2. When she threatened the sexist diner customer, with a fork
Do not sexually harass waitresses in front of Peggy, if you value your life.
1. When she took out a guy, with a stapler
This may or may not have been the coolest thing we've ever seen. Captain America may have his shield, Iron Man may have his suit but all Agent Carter needs is a stapler and she's good to go.
