Thor shorn! Chris Hemsworth explains his new short hair look
When you play the main Norse demi-god in the Thor franchise , cutting your blonde locks is kind of a big deal.
So when Chris Hemsworth showed up for press events for his new movie Blackhat with a new 'do, the all-seeing Norse watcher Heimdall himself no doubt let out a mighty gasp.
Hemsworth is sporting a new close-cropped hair cut. He did the deed while home in Australia for the holidays. No short hair needed for a part. Hemsworth just did it because he was sick of the hairy mane.
As he told us at the Blackhat premiere Thursday night.
"I shaved the locks. I needed a trim. I have had long hair for like six years. And I got sick of it. Anyone who has long hair knows it takes a lot of work. It's all good. I can wake up and roll with the day without having to worry about it."
Hemsworth insists he does not feel any weaker with the short hair. He'll be wigging it up and swinging that Thor hammer soon enough. Thor: Ragnarok is due out in 2017.
Hemsworth even talked some smack about who would win, Thor or Marvel's newest super hero, Ant-Man. The trailer dropped for Paul Rudd's character this week. So who would win in a battle royale?
"I'd have to back myself. But I wouldn't want to be in any dispute with Paul Rudd. It would cause me inner turmoil. "
