Watch Maroon 5 crash real weddings in new 'Sugar' video
All of that time and effort to plan a wedding, only to have Maroon 5 crash it?
Um, yes, please!
In the band's new video for their latest single Sugar, they do exactly that. The video follows the band as they surprise newlyweds, crashing their weddings and putting on an impromptu performance. We talked to Eric Parsons, a photographer at one of the crashed weddings, about what the experience was like:
Adam says of the real-life wedding crashings, “It was an out of body experience. I had no idea I would be affected by the overwhelming reactions we received from the couples and guests. Being able to create an unforgettable experience for several people was the highlight of it all. ”
Hmm, but how much of a surprise was it?
"Only the grooms knew in each case," a rep for Maroon 5 tellsET. "However they disclosed it to their bride and the wedding party, we're not sure, but they all wanted it to be as equally a surprise as we did. They had stages set up for their actual wedding band already. All we did was some simple continuity changes to match each one as best we could."
The rep adds that certain shots "had to be shot separately from the real weddings due to time and space constraints that were given."
Fun fact:
The video was directed by David Dobkin, the director of Wedding Crashers!
