'Arrow' star Stephen Amell is officially torturing fans now

Spoiler alert! The following contains spoilers for December's mid-season finale of Arrow

Remember that thing that happened on Arrow's mid-season finale that we decided definitely could not have actually happened? Well now star Stephen Amell is speaking out about the very literal cliff hanger, and he's not saying things we want to hear.

In an interview with Comic Book Resources, the actor talked about Lazarus Pits, a part of the DC comics universe that allows the dead to come back to life, which many fans have guessed to be how Oliver survived his dive off the cliff in December. And while Amell confirmed that a Lazarus Pit exists in the Arrow universe, he says that's not how Oliver will come back:
"We just saw him fall. We’ve seen Oliver survive. So, (we don’t know) whether he went straight off the cliff, whether something broke his fall, whether he hit the ground. We have mystical herbs on the show that have healing powers. We’ve seen a Lazarus Pit, although that’s not something that’s going to be used for Oliver. I hope he survives. I like playing him."
Now, it's not that we need Oliver to come back via a Lazarus pit, it's that we need him to come back, period. Because there's just no Arrow without the Arrow. It's just not a thing. So we're really hoping he's majorly kidding about this whole "I hope he survives" nonsense.

Although we can't help but remember what Amell tweeted when the episode with Oliver's fall aired...

...so we're wondering if maybe he just really enjoys torturing his fans.
