Frances McDormand is way too cool for the SAGs
Most actors are overjoyed to be awarded SAGs by their fellow actors.
Then, there's Frances McDormand.
McDormand, who took the Screen Actors Guild trophy for her role in Olive Kitteridge, really could not have cared any less that she won.
For her acceptance speech, she basically admitted she'd rather be watching movies than winning an award:
"I wish that we could all get some really cozy slippers, a box of See’s nuts and chews, hang out and watch more of our work, because every little snippit that I see I just want to see more and more."
Then, she shamelessly plugged her shows:
I’m proclaiming that if you haven't seen Olive Kitteridge you need to. You can stream it, I don’t know how... you can get the DVDs February 9, give it to somebody as a Valentine’s present, and I’m doing a show down at the Red Cat with The Wooster Group called Early Shaker Spirituals, come see. Thank you.”
Frances McDormand. Way too cool.
