It's safe to say we don't look quite this regal on our morning commute to work:

Or ever, for that matter.

But then again, we aren't Dame Helen Mirren.

spotted the actress on the New York subway Thursday. She starts Broadway performances of The Audience Feb. 17, in which she plays Queen Elizabeth II — a role which she originated in the London production of the play last year, and won an Oscar for in the 2006 film The Queen.

She could certainly teach Tom Hanks a thing or two about proper subway etiquette:
